Sculptures in the city & at Sculpture Park, 12 Feb

Sunday, 12 February , 11.15-12.45 a.m.

Rotterdam owns the largest collection of art in public space in the Netherlands. The sculptures are there, of course, but it’s quite special, isn’t it?

During Rotterdam Art Week, Ewald x Ros will guide you on Sunday morning along an inspiring selection of sculptures by internationally renowned artists such as Henry Moore, Auguste Rodin, Kaliopi Lemos, Ossip Zadkine and Rotterdam’s own Joep van Lieshout during a 1,5 hour-walk. Did you know you can admire Picasso in the wild, just like that? And if trees grow up to the sky – how does that look like for an artist?

Walk with us from Museumpark towards Main Station, and see how art adds to the city. We will stop at some striking sculptures and examine the use of materials and, above all, dwell on the creators’ ideas.

With this art walk, Ewald x Ros, an expert in the city art collection, offers not only a special experience and orientation but also a perfect connection to a new component in Art Rotterdam programming: Sculpture Park.
Art Rotterdam – Sculpture Park, in the UNESCO World Heritage Site Van Nelle factory, is a unique presentation of large-scale artworks – which establish a relationship with nature or the urban environment.

For 25 euros p.p., you can walk for 1.5 hours past sculptures in the city centre and continue your route at Sculpture Park at Art Rotterdam. Entrance to the art fair is included in the price and, as a bonus, you will receive the special BKOR – Sculpture International Rotterdam Art Route – Centre afterwards.

(DISCOUNT: a regular day ticket for Art Rotterdam is €22,50, in combination with the guided 1.5 hrs Verbeeld_Imagined Sculptures in the City Walk, you only pay €25 pp)
